The Currencies tab in Settings

Default currency

The Default currency selector decides which currency new invoices use by default. Four system currencies are offered:

  • EUR — Euro (€)
  • CHF — Swiss Franc (CHF)
  • GBP — British Pound (£)
  • USD — US Dollar ($)

Available currencies

The Available currencies list shows each currency with its rate and the date it was last updated.

Two badges qualify the currencies:

  • Base — the reference currency the rates are computed from (rate 1.0000)
  • Default — the currency applied to new invoices, once one has been designated

Every currency that is not the default carries a Set as default button to promote it. The icons on the right of each line edit or delete a currency.

Until a currency has been designated, the selector shows Select a currency and no line carries the Default badge.

The Add a currency button at the top of the list registers a custom currency.

Automatic exchange rates

Exchange rates are updated automatically every day for the system currencies.

For the custom currencies you added yourself, the automatic update does not apply: you have to enter the rates by hand.
